Day 1

Ok, so I woke up this morning with a new attitude toward this weight loss thing. I made myself jump on the scale to know for sure what my starting point would be. Needless to say I have a lot of work to do. My goal is to lose 31 pounds, which right now, sounds like a huge hurdle to overcome. The good thing is, I have my first race, a half marathon, on Feb. 14, which hopefully will be a great motivator.

My plan is to weigh every Saturday, since I started today, which is what Weight Watchers does. They weigh once a week. I figure it will be easier to see results that way, and then hopefully, I won't get as disappointed because I'll have more of a chance to see changes in my weight.

I worked out today for over an hour. I've had to start over on my running so I only ran 0.4 miles to avoid shin splints again, and I walked fast for the rest of the total 5 miles. I've eaten very well, too.

Well, I guess that's it for today. I'm sick of going up and down on the scale, and I know a lot of you feel the same way, so wish me luck.
